Hogsmeade Village

Our Hogsmeade Village included: The Three Broomsticks, Honeydukes, Ollivander's wand shop, and potions supplies shop.
Everyone received a bag of coins to buy their supplies for the night. We "charged" for the wands, potion supplies, butterbeer, pumpkin juice and candy from Honeydukes. We had a muggle favorite for dinner, Pizza!
We covered the walls with the wood-paneled paper and hung up Harry Potter posters, wanted posters and store advertisements.
Bought:
Wood Panel paper - Shindigz
Candle stick holders - thrift shop
Posters  - Hogwarts Train, Godric's Hollow, 422nd Quidditch Match
Black gift bags for potion supplies.
Cold Butterbeer Recipe
Ingredients:
Cream soda, Vanilla cream if possible
1-2 teaspoons butterscotch (per cup)

Directions:
Pour the chilled cream soda into your glass or mug, leaving about 1-inch at the top for the froth. Add in 1-2 teaspoonfuls (depending on your flavor preference) of the butterscotch syrup and stir well to incorporate.
Warm Butterbeer Recipe
Ingredients:
6 cups whole milk
2 cups cream soda
½ cup butterscotch sauce
1 (4-serving size) Butterscotch-flavored Jell-O Instant Pudding Mix

Directions:
Pour milk and cream soda into medium-sized saucepan. Turn heat to medium-high. Once warm, add in butterscotch syrup and butterscotch pudding mix. Whisk until all the lumps are gone. Stir until pudding is dissolved and the butterbeer is hot. Top with whipped cream (recipe below)
I used A Crafty Chick blog's tutorial on making the wand boxes. I was making 32 boxes and didn't want to use fabric, so I covered the inside with colored constructions paper and filled the boxes with colored tissue paper.

Advanced Potion Making Booklets

I found the Advanced Potion Making book cover and the first few pages of the book on the internet. I then created recipes for the kids to use to make their potions for potion class. I glued the book cover to construction paper to give it more heft and printed the inside pages on antique style paper. My husband bound the books for me.  For the drinkable potion recipes, check out the Potions Class Page

Chocolate Frog and Peppermint Toad Boxes and Chocolates
I found a Chocolate frog and Peppermint Toad template on Instructables.  These are time consuming to make, but well worth it! The kids thought they were awesome!
I bought the frog mold from Amazon and used it for both the frogs and toads. For the frogs I used dark cocoa Wilton candy melts. For the toads I used turquoise Wilton candy melts and coated the bottom of the mold with a thin layer of chocolate then filled the rest with dark cocoa mint Wilton candy melts.
Honeydukes Banner and Signs
I used the free downloads from Jonesing2create for the Honeydukes banner and candy labels. I used small gold grommets in the corners and fishing line to connect the letters.
